Fourteen ballot slips. You can lead four; you will have to bargain with all of them.

What actually happens here

The election takes a minute. Then the real thing starts: you go party by party and haggle. Each one wants a ministry, a budget or a law, and almost every demand enrages somebody else at the table. Reached 61 seats? Congratulations, now govern with it for 52 weeks. The promises you handed out come due. Or they do not, and then people come for you.

We barely had to invent anything

The institutions and rules we joke about are real. The politicians and parties are recognisable, but this is parody: their lines, events and storylines are invented.

YNET

The Chicken Council found illegally laid eggs

A farm laid forty thousand eggs over its quota. By law an egg without an allocated quota cannot be sold. The farmer came to the studio holding a tray and asked what exactly the hens are guilty of.

HAARETZ

Ministry appointments are sold on Telegram. Discount for two

The passport backlog runs to seven hundred thousand applications. Programmers built a bot to catch cancelled slots; scalpers took it over within a week. A slot with a clerk now costs a hundred dollars, with a discount for two.

X/TWITTER

The state sells all its bread to one man

Before Passover the entire chametz of the country is sold to a single non-Jew for a twenty-thousand-shekel deposit. His predecessor was removed when it emerged his grandmother may have been Jewish.

How it plays

  1. 1

    Election

120 seats split between fourteen parties. The threshold is real: somebody will not make it, and that is funny right up until it is you.

  2. 2

    Negotiation

Work the parties, accept or refuse demands. The cabinet preview shows who ends up with Defence — and who you have already offended by promising it.

  3. 3

    The term

52 weeks of events, crises and promises coming due. Partners issue ultimatums with a visible countdown. A government can fall in seven different ways.

Voices at the table

Every leader speaks in their own register. The AI writes their reactions in character, not from a template.

«Twenty years I have been saying it. Twenty. Nice to be right once while still alive.»

Avigdor LiebermanLieberman (Yisrael Beiteinu)

«The yeshiva budget is untouched, I hope? Because if it is not...»

Aryeh DeriDeri (Shas)

«A mistake. Tactical.»

Questions people ask

How long is a game?+

A full term runs about an hour. Most governments do not reach the end, so often it is quicker.

Do I need an account?+

Not to play — open it and go. An account unlocks the live lines written for your exact decision: free for the first 13 weeks of the term. After that it is either a subscription, or the game continues on pre-written lines — which were also written by humans.

How much does it cost?+

The election, the negotiations and the first 13 weeks of every term are free, no card needed. Live lines for the whole term, direct messages to the politicians and the article about your government come with a subscription: $4/mo or $30/yr. Cancel any time; within the first 14 days, with a refund.

Which languages?+

English, Russian, Hebrew and Spanish.

Is this about real politicians?+

It's satire and parody of recognisable politicians and parties: the names are real, the lines, events and storylines are invented — none of them ever said or did any of this. The institutions and rules are real, though: the Chicken Council genuinely exists, and that is unfortunately easy to check.

Is it hard?+

Building a coalition is easy. Holding it for a year is another matter: a careful prime minister reaches the end roughly one run in three. Governments usually fall not from a mistake but from success — the promises you keep tear the country apart.

The president asks you to form a government

Not that he believes in you. There is simply nobody else.
